The results of the by-election for the Weymouth Town Council seat of Preston & Sutton Poyntz Ward, with a 39.64 % voter turnout, are as follows:
- Joanna DICKENSON, Local Conservatives - 959 votes ELECTED
- Steve Brown, Labour Party - 100 votes
- Simon Clifford, Liberal Democrats - 610 votes
